Dear Colleagues and Guests,

It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the 17th Asian Confederation for Physical Therapy Congress in Suwon, Korea, in 2026. This meeting is not only a celebration of our profession, but also an academic forum to reflect on where we are headed—both in research and clinical practice.

The theme, “Redefining the Boundaries of Physical Therapy: Sustainability, Collaboration, and Innovation”, serves as a guiding framework for our scientific discussions. Sustainability calls us to generate knowledge and strategies that ensure long-term impact. Collaboration underscores the importance of interdisciplinary and cross-border research partnerships. Innovation invites us to embrace emerging technologies from digital health to artificial intelligence that are reshaping the scope of rehabilitation.

The scientific program will highlight diverse fields: cancer rehabilitation and lymphology, cardiopulmonary and neurological care, orthopaedic physical therapy, and the integration of digital technologies into practice. By addressing both fundamental science and real-world application, the program aims to bridge the gap between evidence and practice, offering insights that are directly relevant to clinicians, researchers, and policymakers.

A special emphasis will also be placed on creating opportunities for early-career professionals to share their work and receive mentorship. Supporting their growth is essential to sustaining the vitality and progress of physical therapy in Asia.

Beyond the academic sessions, we invite you to experience Suwon’s unique cultural heritage and the warmth of Korean hospitality. We believe the ideas, connections, and friendships forged here will last long after the closing ceremony.
